Surgical Forceps Case Study

Based off of Foster Corp.’s latest polymer from Arkema, Westminster Tool designed and produced metal 3D-printed cavities for research and development using Mantle’s Metal 3D printer. The objective was to create a production-environment prototype tool quickly, where Foster could get real-world medical device examples and troubleshoot tricky molding parameters for potential customers. Medical Device Prototype Case Study

A large medical device OEM needed production-representative parts quickly in order to complete biocompatibility and functional testing. Development trials needed to be completed before large-scale production could begin. Westminster Tool used metal additive manufacturing to quickly produce H13-equivalent, production-level cavities in a fraction of the time compared to traditional machining methods.
